Hi-ho Hi-ho

In a few hours I'll be leaving for my first business trip.  I'll be traveling with my boss.  Just me and her, in a car, together, for over 4 hours.  Fortunately we genuinely like each other, and we've worked together for a few years... but there is still great potential for many awkward moments during a 4-hour road trip!  Plus another 4 hours when we drive back in two days.  Plus we'll be eating all of our meals together and working side-by-side the entire time we're away.  Oh, and we'll be meeting with her boss as well.  Yikes.  Here's hoping I don't make a huge ass of myself!

I am preparing to do some holiday baking for the second night in a row.  And, for the second night in a row, my preparation involves putting on red lipstick.  I think I must subconsciously channel Lucy Ricardo when I'm cooking.

It's Movie Time

It's Tuesday afternoon.  It's raining.  I'm stuck at home with a sick kid.  Thus, I will probably not be straying far from my couch until dinner time... which means, of course, that it's movie time!  My first choice, Man on Wire, is a documentary chronicling several years in the life of Frenchman Philipe Petit, who walked a tightrope between the WTC twin towers in 1974.  This film instantly entrances me every time I see it:  the footage, the score, and the narration from Petit and his cohorts all work together beautifully to tell a breathtaking true story.  It is seamless and gorgeous, and when it ends you'll want to watch it again immediately.  Good thing I'm not going anywhere today.

Because M83 mastermind Anthony Gonzalez is a genius.  His music is haunting, captivating, and uplifting all at the same time.  I just bought tickets to see him live for the first time and I haven't been so excited for a show in quite a while.

Third time's the charm, right?  Welcome to the re-relaunch of Little Miss Fever.  This time I come to you feeling inspired, but making no promises.  As you can see, I have deleted all of my past posts to give us a clean slate.
